WELCOME TO MY PARADISE! Having lived in Naples, Florida for almost 30 years, I have watched this quaint fishing village grow into the vibrant city that it has become today. Several new hospitals and clinics have opened their doors in the past few years in Collier County, in addition to libraries, schools,and higher learning institutions. Fortunately for Neapolitans, the infrastructure seems to have kept up with the City's growning pains AND we have managed to keep that "small town" atmosphere. Situated on the beautiful sandy beaches of the Gulf of Mexico, there is always something to do! Whether it be boating, fishing, water sports, shelling or just soaking up the sun, the beach is a great place to start! Because of our beautiful weather (mean annual temperature is 75 degrees), outdoor activities abound. Naples is known as the Golf Capital of the World and hosts several popular tournaments throughout the fall and winter months. The Nuveen Masters tennis event is also a popular activity. Naples is nature friendly. Walking and biking paths line the City streets. It's not uncommon to see neighbors waving, smiling and stopping to chat. Kayaking has also become a popular sport in Naples. Naples is also host to a variety of art and cultural events, both indoor and outdoor. Street festivals of all kinds are common, as are concerts of all types, plays, galleries, museums, the Naples Philharmonic, etc. Naples' most famous landmark and dear to my heart is the Naples Pier. Built in 1960 after Hurricane Donna, it has stood the test of time. Hundreds of thousands of visitors and residents alike have strolled on the Pier to watch sunsets, fish for the "big one", or just enjoy the camaraderie of like-minded people from all over the world who come to see our beautiful City. Restaurants in Naples are superb! From fine dining to a picnic on the beach, Naples has alot to offer in the culinary world.
